Governor Chris Christie meets with Jessica Rogers and her family in his office at the Statehouse in Trenton. Jessica Rogers’ Law was signed by the Governor after the meeting. The bill allows for increased criminal penalties for bodily harm caused through the aggressive operation of an auto or vessel, commonly known as “road rage.” When she was 16, Rogers was among a group of teens riding in a friend’s car. Another vehicle cut them off and the driver she was with became angry and gave chase. The rage ended when the vehicle crashed into a telephone pole. Rogers was paralyzed from the chest down.
